Gateleg Table

gateleg-tableThis is a beautiful oak gateleg table which has the cc41 mark on it.  Made either during or just after the war.  Resources and materials were low at this time and a government led committee was set up to make sure these resources were used correctly and utiliterian furniture was made specifically for newly weds and for those people whose homes had been bombed.  The quality was exceptional and made by craftsmen which still shows today.  Finished in a modern grey wash this table can still be used and enjoyed in modern and traditional homes
